Isle of Wight Remembrance festival moves to Medina Theatre

A growing remembrance event is moving to a larger venue and set to reach a wider audience.

The Isle of Wight Festival of Remembrance, organised by Medina Marching Band, will take place at Medina Theatre in Newport on Friday, November 6, at 7.30pm.

The evening will bring together musicians, cadets, veterans, and community groups in a programme of music, ceremony, and reflection.

Kevin Downer, chairman of Medina Marching Band IW, said: “Our first Festival of Remembrance was held back in 2019 for the children of Nine Acres Primary School.

“It was a wonderful opportunity to introduce young people to the importance of remembrance through music”
